The complex interplay between societal norms, policies, and individual autonomy that shapes women's lives and choices encapsulates the phrase “A woman’s body is political.” From access to healthcare services and comprehensive sex education to reproductive choices and bodily autonomy, the political dimensions surrounding a woman's body are both significant and deeply influential. Our 2023 Journal looks at these complexities and much more, and we cannot wait to share it with you!

The Girl-Talk Journal is an engaging collection highlighting the remarkable endeavors of GT coordinators, community organizers, young activists and organizations within the African continent working to advance the rights of women and girls. It captures the lived experiences of African women and girls through interviews and written articles. Read our first journal here.

In this year's edition, our focus was on Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), shedding light on both accomplishments and the work that lies ahead. It explored different thematic areas ranging from contraceptive access, abortion rights, period poverty and comprehensive sex education.
